Service from Our Board-Certified Eyelid Surgeon
How does blepharoplasty work? This procedure is often performed in an outpatient setting, and can often be completed at the same time as facelift surgery or another treatment. During the procedure, our eyelid surgeon will inject numbing medication into your eyelids. In most cases, we work on your upper eyelids first. Our surgeon cuts along the fold of your eyelid, removes excess skin, muscle, fat, and then closes the cut.
In your lower lid, our eyelid surgeon will make a cut below your lashes in your eye's natural crease. We remove or redistribute excess fat, muscle, and sagging skin before closing the cut. Most procedures take under two hours to complete, and you will be able to return home during the same day. Some patients report the following after undergoing upper and lower eyelid surgery:
|• Blurred Vision
||• Watery Eyes
||• Light Sensitivity
||• Double Vision
||• Puffy or Numb Eyelids
